BMW K1200LT
BMW spotted a gap in the market that resided between sport-tourers, and luxury-tourers, and decided to fill it with the K1200LT. This machine was based around the K1200RS engine and chasis. The engine was given a few minor tweaks to bump up the mid-range, and it was connected to the rear wheel via a shaft drive and 5 speed gearbox. With a paralever rear, and a telelever front, mounted to a single unit cast/forged aluminum alloy frame, the K1200LT was certainly a high tech unit. Luxury features include electronic cruise control, fifth gear overdrive, anti-lock brakes and an electric reverse gear! Integral to the design are a pair of 35 liter saddlebags and a 50 liter top case. The riders seat is adjustable, and there are many luxury features in addition to those mentioned.

Power in 1999 was 82.7bhp, with torque of 73.6ft/lb's. Wet weight was 851lb's.
