BMW R1200C

When pictures first appeared of the R1200C, the reactions ran the gamut. It was certainly quite a radical design, particularly coming from ultra-conservative BMW. Early publicity was helped along by an appearance in a James Bond movie, after which it seemed to be accepted by the press at large. Being a BMW, the engineering was top notch, and the R1200C coped very well in situations not normally associated with cruisers. In addition, the bike was a lot of fun to ride. BMW sold a lot of R1200C's.
Since its introduction, changes have been minimal. There was a shock re-valve for 1999, and some cosmetic variations on the theme since then.
Power in 1998 was 55.5bhp, with torque of 62.6ft/lb's. Wet weight was 568lb's.
