HONDA CBX, 78-79

When Honda unveiled the CBX late in 1977 the moto world drew a collective gasp. With six cylinders and 24 valves, the CBX was unlike anything that preceeded it (barring the Benelli Sei 750 of 1975). It was a technological marvel, and had impressive performance figures to match. It had 85 horses at the rear wheel, and could run a quarter mile in 11.5 seconds, at 120mph. The CBX engine was primarily designed by Shoichiro Irimajiri, who had played an instrumental role in the design of the famous Honda six cylinder 250cc GP bike in the 1960's. Always destined to be a future classic, the CBX was collectable from the beginning.
