KAWASAKI NINJA 600, 1988-1997
Kawasaki has a tendancy to leave bikes in the lineup for a very long time. The Ninja is one of those bikes. What begins as a high performance contender eventually becomes the bargain basement sportbike. The earlier Ninja's had some comfort problems, so for 1988 Kawasaki put the same engine in a new chasis. The dimensions were the same as the old machine, but the package was much improved. The engine actually gained three horses from a higher compression ratio and a larger airbox. The riding position was significantly better, and the suspension a vast improvement. Power in 1988 was 65.56@12000rpm, with torque of 35.44@8000rpm. wet weight was 456lb's.
