KAWASAKI VULCAN 1500, 1996+
The Vulcan 88 was the biggest engined cruiser on the market. It's massive pistons produced huge gobs of torque, but complained when spun above 4500rpm. In top gear roll-ons, the big Vulcan could outgun a Yamaha VMax. Ergonomics were suitable to cruising good distances, although some vibration does intrude into the experience at higher highway speeds. All that torque drives through a four speed gearbox. The Vulcan wasn't designed to carve any corners, and complained when it was forced into that situation. Cosmetically, reviews were mixed. There certainly was a lot of chrome. Power was 59 horses, with toque of 78ft/lb's. Wet weight was625lb's
