KAWASAKI ZX10
All of the Japanese Manufacturers were getting serious about the open class. On one side of the spectrum were the user friendly offerings from Honda and Suzuki (the CBR1000 & Katana 1100), and on the other the Yamaha FZR1000 and Suzuki GSXR1100 race replica's. The ZX10 occupied the ground in between, attempting to offer replica-like performance with real world comfort. The ZX10 was a big improvement over the previous Ninja 1000, boasting big gains in horsepower throughout the rev range, better handling and lighter weight thanks to the new aluminum frame. Power in 1988 was 135bhp@10000rpm, with torque of 74.8ft/lb's@9000rpm. Wet weight was 573lb's.
