SUZUKI GSXR750, 1986-1987
The 1986 GSXR750 was revolutionary, and has become a legend. It re-wrote the rule books on how a production sportbike should look, and how it should perform. Suzuki, more than any other manufacturer, has focussed their sport bikes on the race track, beleiving that race success equals showroom sales. To this day, the GSXR series continues with this philosophy, and they continue to sell in large numbers. The GSXR was about 20% lighter than its competitors in the 750 class, and was lighter than most 550's! This, combined with the all new engine producing big-time horsepower, enabled Suzuki to clean up on the track, and sell the 'Gixxer' in large numbers. The GSXR750 of '86/87 was certainly a benchmark machine that changed sportbikes forever.

Power in 1986 was 79.26bhp@10500rpm, with torque of 42.81@9000. Wet weight was 465lb's.
