SUZUKI RF900, 1994-1997
The RF900 was designed to slot in somewhere between the Katana 1100, and the GSXR1100. Despite its smaller engine, the RF was still classified as an open class sport tourer. The engine was built on the GSXR1100 bottom end, ensuring durability. The top end was all new, and Suzuki used direct, downdraught carbs for the first time. The steel perimeter frame was the same as the RF600 unit. The suspension and brakes were well sorted, and the engine very smooth and eager to please. By virtue of it being some 96lb's lighter than the Katana 1100, and producing similar power, the RF was a sprightly performer.

Power in 1994 was 118.5bhp@10000rpm, with torque of 68.6ft/lb's@8500. Wet weight was 519lb's.
