YAMAHA VIRAGO 750, 1981-1983
|
Yamaha had no qualms about heading into territory traditionally occupied by other manufacturers. The Virago 750 was a clear attempt to edge in on the Harley market by producing an up to date V-Twin, complete with shaft drive, single shock rear suspension, and an overhead cam V-Twin engine. The engine itself was wonderfully flexible and economical, and a joy to use.
Power in 1981 was 45bhp@7000rpm, with torque of 36.3@6000rpm. Wet weight was 481lb's.
