YAMAHA YZF1000, 1996-1997

As with the 600 Thunder Cat, the YZF1000R was released in Europe first, as the 'Thunder Ace'. It did not receive such rave reviews as the 600, but was nonetheless well received. A terrific motor was combined with a good chassis and suspension, but the ergonomics were widely regarded as too cramped.
Power in 1997 was 123.4bhp, with torque of 71.3ft/lb's. wet weight was 512lb's.
