YAMAHA YZF600, 1994-1996
|
A YZF600 managed to win the AMA 600 Supersport Championship in 1994, and was certainly a competitive mount that year. By 1995 both Honda and Kawasaki had upped the ante, so it was already beginning to fall behind on the track. The engine was a development of the FZR600 unit, and was very smooth and strong. The frame was a steel deltabox design, with a steel swingarm to match. The suspension was not particularly adjustable, so fell behind the competition somewhat.
Power in 1994 was 84.6@11,500, with a wet weight of 467lb's.
