YAMAHA YZF750, 1994+
Yamaha had been contesting the AMA 750 championship for a number of years, most recently on the YZF750SP... a full on race machine sold in very limited numbers, but had no 750 streetbike offering for sale to the general public. That was remedied by the YZF750R. The 'R' lifted many components from the 'SP', and was thus a pretty serious street and track contender. For a sportbike, comfort was fairly good, although the suspension was a bit on the harsh side. The YZF750 did not sell particularly well, and was dropped in 1995 (there were still leftover '94's). It was reintroduced in 1996.

Power in 1995 was 104.2, with torque of 53. Wet weight was 497lb's.
